A Day in the Life of a Finance & Accounting Lead
What’s it really like to be a Finance & Accounting Lead at Ludicrum? Spoiler: it’s not just about numbers - it’s about connecting the dots, driving strategy, and finding better ways to work every day. 📊
This month, we caught up with Lana, our Finance & Accounting Lead to hear about her daily rhythm, her Kaizen mindset, and how she supports both people and performance. 💡 Let’s dive in!

☕ What does a typical workday look like?
“A typical workday for me starts with reviewing priorities and checking in on any urgent requests or deadlines (with coffee of course :D). I usually spend part of the morning on payments and follow-ups.
Throughout the day, I collaborate with different teams - whether it’s answering questions, providing insights, or supporting ongoing projects. I also dedicate time to mentoring team members, checking progress, and helping remove roadblocks.
No two days are exactly the same, I try to balance execution, communication, and continuous improvement in everything I do.”
💥 What’s the most exciting or unexpected part of your role?
“One of the most unexpected and exciting parts of my role is how much impact we have beyond the numbers. Finance is often seen as purely analytical, but in reality, we play a critical role in shaping strategy and enabling smarter decisions across the business.
I enjoy uncovering insights from data that help other teams see the bigger picture. Within the team, what excites me most is the collaboration - we’re problem-solvers, advisors, and trusted collaborators.”
💡 What’s your favourite value, and how do you apply it?
“All of them work together and are equally important. Kaizen is the one I am starting to notice more and more even in tiniest details when I work on something and decide it is done but then idea comes to mind and I go back to adjust, improve or make it better - sometimes it's within hours and sometimes within months - like little wheels keep turning even when tasks are 'done'.
In my day to day work it just links together - often I am checking historical data and noticing details, so instead of just seeing them I decide to take action and think how it can be more efficient, easier or better.”
🌱 What’s your favourite thing about working here?
“Freedom to express ideas and flexibility in work with room to grow.”

🛤️ Could you share a bit about your journey at Ludicrum?
“My journey at Ludicrum started two years ago as an Accounting Specialist, focused on mastering the details and building a solid foundation.
Through dedication, continuous learning, and a commitment to support the team I gradually took on more responsibilities. Today, I’m proud to serve as a Lead, guiding others, contributing to strategic decisions, and helping drive our team’s success forward.”
👂 What’s one leadership lesson you’ve learned on the job?
“One key leadership lesson I’ve learned is that listening is just as powerful as guiding. Early on, I thought being a strong leader meant always having the answers.
But I’ve come to realize that creating space for others to speak, contribute ideas, or share concerns leads to better outcomes and stronger trust.”
👀 Any advice for someone considering a role at Ludicrum?
“Come with a mindset of curiosity and adaptability. This company values people who are eager to learn and grow, and who can embrace change positively.”
